A graduate of the Shannon College of Hotel Management has recently added a degree in Strategic Hotel Management from the prestigious Cornell University to his academic achievements.
Clare native Nicky Logue is general manager and director of the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney Co. Dublin. He recently graduated from the course which was developed in conjunction with Failte Ireland and aims to provide participants with the skills necessary to evaluate strategic options and boost innovation and creativity for their business.
Since Nicky took over as general manager at the Fitzpatrick Hotel seven years ago he has overseen double figure growth in the business and a major refurbishment programme. Three years ago he joined the board of the hotel.
Nicky strives to ensure that the hotel is on top of the game. His outstanding achievements were acknowledged recently with a Business Excellence Award at the Fáilte Ireland Optimus 2010 Awards.
A graduate of the Shannon College of Hotel Management, Nicky trained in Switzerland and Russia. He then spent 11 years as a manager in the UK for both Principal and Paramount Hotel Groups.
Nicky is also a director of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Tourism, Dun Laoghaire Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Shannon College of Hotel Management Trust and has won the Irish Hospitality Institute’s ‘Hotel Manager of the Year’.
